The Port St John Community Foundation holds community events throughout the year supported by fund-raisers and donations from businesses and residents. These include an Annual Golf Tournament, Thunder Over the Indian River Fireworks Display, Fay Lake FestiFall, Corn Hole Tournament and the PSJ Christmas Parade. We hope to add events that our community would have interest in bringing to Port St John.
The foundation has also hosted a county wide senior prom in 2020 when the school districts shut it down and then created an Adopt-A-Senior program for our PSJ High School Seniors to show them some love and acknowledge their graduation. This event continued for 2021 and is on track for 2022 as well.
The Annual PSJCF Golf Classic starts the year off to raise funds for the Port St John fireworks display, or Thunder Over the Indian River costing just under $20k annually. Other events include the Fay Lake FestiFALL which includes the annual chili cook-off in November at Fay Lake Wilderness Park and there is a Corn Hole Tournament and the Christmas Parade.
We also have a Facebook group, the PSJ Cares program which is to help local residents in their time of financial hardship if/when we can.
Every PSJCF event that is held places all funds raised into one account and the funds are used to host and support the next PSJCF event.
It's up to you. Street Parties, Art Festivals, Fishing Tournaments, you name it! We want input and suggestions from the community for future events and fund-raisers for all to enjoy.
